Sunset on the Water
Storm on the South River
Sunset and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Because of its height, the narrowness of the spans (there are no hard shoulders), the low guardrails, and the frequency of high winds, it is often cited as one of the scariest bridges in the world. (Wikipedia)
Pebble Pathway
State House
The Annapolis State House. It was here George Washington came before Congress to resign his commission as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army.
Old Church
Walking through the old part of town we came across an old church. Built in the 1880’s, it kept up its shape very well. The congregation must have moved on at some point as now its become home to a different kind of family.
Great Falls
Great Falls Park, VA is located toward the end of the C&O canal. The C&O Canal began as a dream of passage to Western wealth. Operating for nearly 100 years the canal was a lifeline for communities along the Potomac River as coal, lumber, and agricultural products floated down the waterway to market. George Washington partially funded a canal with lock gates to safely bypass the falls. The building of this canal is one of the first known examples of using blasting powder for engineering purposes anywhere in the world.
Fallen Tree
Feeling a little tropical
It’s tropical Tuesday, but on a Wednesday. Enjoy these brightly colored friends.
Astrophotography Fun
Experimenting with astrophotography. Down the center you can faintly see the Milky Way. A better location would help alot and improving some settings and edits too. Its a fun start.
First Entry in Wednesday Weekly
Today’s entry is a picture I took of an overcast day by the water. The sky looked a little angry that day- I believe a storm was moving in.
Welcome to the Wednesday Weekly page.
Welcome to the Wednesday Weekly page. If you’ve read the Fresh Greene’s About page or been following along from the beginning, you’ll know that this site was built to give me a way to share my photography and other projects. Being a perfectionist though, I like to make sure that what I publish is as complete as possible. That means delivery time between major projects can be a bit excessive. During that time it may seem that the Fresh Greene’s field isn’t so fresh and has turned barren when it has actually been left fallow. To have some activity between major releases I came up with the idea of the Wednesday Weekly page. Something to keep the site looking active while I’m deep into a project. I am not yet sure what will fill this page. It could be photos, it could be cast-offs of other projects, it could be something I’m experimenting, or just some information. The items won’t be as polished as I usually like them, but it will be quantity instead of quality here. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this little experiment.
